About Les Brown

Les Brown is an American experimental multi-instrumentalist, performer, composer and producer. His music includes elements of art rock, electronica, kraut rock, psychedelia, ambient music and contemporary jazz. A self-taught musician, Les creates music pulled from the broad variety of genres he has listened to throughout his life. Les released his first singles, Approaching Equinox and Meat Grinder Variations No. 1 in 2021. His first full-length album, The First One LP, was released in 2022, The Next One LP was released in 2024, followed by the Leftovers EP and the Entrance EP, also in 2024.

Biography

Leslie "Les" Brown was born in Pennsylvania, USA, and earned his Master of Science degree in Geology from The Univeristy of South Carolina. Les took several years of piano lessons in grade school, and is self-learned on guitar, drums, percussion, and music production. After grad school, Les moved to Colorado with his wife and 5 cats, and created Uncle Bob, a rock and jam power trio based in Denver, Colorado. After fronting Uncle Bob on voice and guitar, Les moved on to play drums in the rock/jam band Natchez Bound in Evergreen, Colorado. Two decades later, Les and his wife moved back to Edinboro, Pennsylvania, where they had originally met and married. Since returning to Pennsylvania, Les has performed on lead guitar in a jazz trio and produced two singles, three EPs, and two LPs of his own music. Les also produces experiment electronic music under the name Leeyoh.
